How to create discounts for your guests

Discounts are a great way to drive sales for specific time periods or events. You can easily create discounts in TourDesk for your front desk staff using the Agent System. Additionally, the discount codes can be shared with guests and used straight on your Sales Portal. 


Click Discounts in the left-hand side menu. Fill in the information about the new discount.

  • Title is the name of the discount, e.g. Holidays 2022
  • Notes are for you and your staff, the guest won’t see this information.
  • Code is the discount code the guest uses, we recommend you keep this short and simple
  • Minimum order value is if you’d only like to offer a discount if the guest books for an x amount, e.g. if the guest books for more than 100USD, they get a 10% discount.
  • Value is the percentage of the discount, e.g. 10%. It is not possible to add a numeric value, e.g. 10 USD.
  • Number of uses is the amount of times the discount can be used, e.g. the first 10 guests to book a specific tour get a 15% discount.
  • Valid period is the days the discount can be used. This is based on your time zone, from midnight on the start date until midnight on the end date. 


Click Save to activate the discount. You can now share the code with your guests.


Note that the discount is provided in full by you so the discount value will be deducted from your monthly commission. The discounts provided are visible in the monthly Settlement Report sent to you by TourDesk.
